The story: "Perspective and scale are everything in my work. One without the other establishes a window of uncertainty. One small man and a dead tree floating in a light valued sea with a nuclear sky. Is it real, does it exist? The combination of these forms has symbolic meaning. They live in a relationship based on tension. Even in black and white, the sand dunes of Sossusvlei carry a feeling of the absurd.
